Fertility Test

  • If you and your partner are trying to have a baby but haven't been able to, you may start to wonder if you should get fertility tests. Experts say it's time to check with a doctor if you've had regular sex without birth control for 12 months if you are under the age of 35 and for 6 months if you are over 35.

Blood Test

  • Blood tests are a standard part of routine and preventive healthcare. A doctor will often order a blood test before or following a physical examination. A doctor may also order blood tests to evaluate specific conditions.

Cytology Test

  • Cytology is the examination of cells from the body under a microscope. In a urine cytology exam, a doctor looks at cells collected from a urine specimen to see how they look and function. The test commonly checks for infection, inflammatory disease of the urinary tract, cancer, or precancerous conditions.

Immuno Assay

  • An immunoassay is a biochemical test that measures the presence or concentration of a macromolecule or a small molecule in a solution through the use of an antibody (usually) or an antigen (sometimes).

Histopathology Test

  • Histopathology is the diagnosis and study of diseases of the tissues, and involves examining tissues and/or cells under a microscope. Histopathologists are responsible for making tissue diagnoses and helping clinicians manage a patient's care.

Chemical Pathology

  • Chemical pathology is the study of chemical and biochemical mechanisms of the body in relation to disease, mostly through the analysis of body fluids such as blood or urine.

Haematology

  • Hematology, also spelled haematology, is the branch of medicine concerned with the study of the cause, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to blood.

Blood Coagulation

  • Coagulation, also known as clotting, is the process by which blood changes from a liquid to a gel, forming a blood clot. It potentially results in hemostasis, the cessation of blood loss from a damaged vessel, followed by repair.

Urine/Stool

  • Bladder or bowel incontinence means there is a problem holding in urine or stool. You may have unwanted passage of urine or stool that you can't control. These conditions can be stressful to deal with. But don't feel embarrassed about talking with your healthcare provider.

Micro Biology/Parisitology

  • Parasitology is the study of parasites, their hosts, and the relationship between them. As a biological discipline, the scope of parasitology is not determined by the organism or environment in question but by their way of life.

ELECTROCARDIOGRAPHY

Adapted from Bioninja What is an ECG or an EKG?   An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a test that checks how your heart is functioning by measuring the electrical activity of the heart. With each heart beat, an electrical impulse (or wave) travels through your heart. This wave causes the muscle to squeeze and pump blood from the heart. An ECG measures and records the electrical activity that passes through the heart. A doctor can determine if this electrical activity is normal or irregular. An ECG may be recommended if you are experiencing  arrhythmia ,  chest pain , or palpitations and an abnormal ECG result can be a signal of a number of different  heart conditions . BLOOD TESTS

A  blood test  is a  laboratory  analysis performed on a  blood  sample that is usually extracted from a  vein in the arm using a  hypodermic needle , or via  fingerprick . Multiple tests for specific blood components, such as a  glucose test  or a  cholesterol test , are often grouped together into one  test panel  called a  blood panel  or  blood work . Blood tests are often used in  health care  to determine  physiological  and  biochemical  states, such as  disease ,  mineral  content,  pharmaceutical drug  effectiveness, and organ function. Typical  clinical  blood panels include a  basic metabolic panel  or a  complete blood count . Blood tests are also used in  drug tests  to detect drug abuse. Adapted from Wikipedia

ULTRASOUND

Adapted from Medical News Today Ultrasound  is  sound waves  with  frequencies  higher than the upper audible limit of human  hearing . Ultrasound is not different from "normal" (audible) sound in its physical properties, except that humans cannot hear it. This limit varies from person to person and is approximately 20  kilohertz (20,000 hertz) in healthy young adults. Ultrasound devices operate with frequencies from 20 kHz up to several gigahertz. Ultrasound is used in many different fields. Ultrasonic devices are used to detect objects and measure distances.  Ultrasound imaging  or sonography is often used in  medicine . In the  nondestructive testing  of products and structures, ultrasound is used to detect invisible flaws. Industrially, ultrasound is used for cleaning, mixing, and accelerating chemical processes. Animals such as  bats  and  porpoises  use ultrasound for locating  ...
